MakeMini[Wellington] was the inaugural event for the “MakeMini[…]” interactive art platform. MakeMini[Wellington] was just one of the many great things on offer at the Maker Faire held in Wellington on 4th November 2018 in Shed 6.
What did we make?
Wellingtonians got together to construct a miniature Wellington made up of 101 pieces including: people, dogs, houses, trees, buildings and some special Wellington icons (Te Papa, Cable Cars, Beehive, Ferry, Shed 6, and Carter Observatory).
Here are some photos taken at the event by my wonderful brother Amos Mann.

Participant experience
I was really impressed with the wonderful pieces that people produced. It took us ~5 hours to construct the miniature Wellington with an average of 6 people working at any given time. That’s 30 man-hours! MakeMini was pretty popular with the kids. The most popular piece to make was a dog.
MakeMini[Wellington] received two Maker of Merit awards (one for fantastic audience experience).
